On the 31st March slug pellets were made illegal. Thats because the metaldehyde poison they contain was harmful to pets and wildlife. Fortunately for gardeners theres a humane and completely legal way to keep those slippery pests at bay. Slug Repelling Copper Tape creates a physical barrier that gastropod molluscs (ie. slugs and snails) will not cross - their mucus slime reacts with copper in a way they hate. Easy to use, you just wrap the self-adhesive tape around the rim or base of pots and containers, or along the edges of tables, greenhouse staging and cold frames, and the slugs slither away, hungry but unharmed. And even when the tape develops a natural verdigris patina, it remains a very active deterrent. Supplied in rolls 4.5m (15ft) in length.
